Role Overview

In this position you will report directly to the Special Projects Manager and assist with the launch of a brand new manufacturing facility in a new clean site from Day 0.

The new facility will include machining, assembly and test utilising state of the art technology and equipment. You will be responsible for projects for the launch of the factory, own them until completion and handover to production.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills and progress as Lontra’s manufacturing expands to become a world-class facility.


  • On site Project Management of all Capex Projects and relevant operation projects
  • Contractor management ensuring Health & Safety procedures are in line with company policies.
  • Sourcing cost-effective solutions & working with OEM’s/Suppliers for best return on investment.
  • Lead projects from detailed design to successful CAR approval stage.
  • Completion of snag lists, site handover protocols and updating site folders.
  • Effective planning, co-ordination, and communication with various supplier across multiple locations.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to assist in the smooth running of the projects
  • Management of health and safety processes and procedures 

In a Nutshell

You will be the main point of contact for a number of activities on site whilst also managing your own projects.

This role will give you the opportunity to lead projects from specification to implementation.

Skills & Experience

  • Engineering and project management background beneficial 
  • Manufacturing experience, preferably complex industrial assemblies
  • Creative with the ability to innovate
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to work with other departments
  • Contractor management experience beneficial
  • Manufacturing documentation experience beneficial
  • IOSH qualified would be beneficial.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be vigilant and diligent and be able to maintain high quality standards of work with good attention to detail.
  • Understand and interpret requirements accurately by effective questioning, listening, while clarifying and implementing information.
  • An industrious and enquiring individual able to work alone or as part of a team without direct supervision.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and advance their potential to become a competent and flexible member of the manufacturing team and progress continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify solutions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • An effective verbal and written communicator all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and scheduling software.
