Lontra has started the next major stage in the development of the energy efficient Lindsey Engine™ and compressor, supported in part by a substantial DTI grant. Phase 3 includes further conceptual and modelling work to refine the design, and the construction and testing of compressor prototypes.
The programme will be undertaken with Mahle Powertrain, and is partly funded by a further DTI Development Grant of £189k, managed by the London Development Agency.
Steve Lindsey, Technical Director: “It’s an exciting time for the project, as we further develop the unique features of the design, file additional patents and develop the prototypes. We’re keen to build relationships with new development partners as we realise the potential of the technology.”
The grant comes at the start of a busy year for the commercial development of the company, including a further finance round, the recruitment of a Chair and the development of the management.
Simon Hombersley, Business Development Director: “The LDA has enabled a crucial phase in the development of the technology, and we are grateful for its continuing support. Alongside this technical programme, we will be developing the commercial skills of the company to prepare for the exploitation of the IP.”
