Chris Whelan, Technical Consultant

Chris Whelan is an experienced powertrain engineer, who has developed engines for applications from motorsport through airships to Gen-Sets. Formerly a Project Chief Engineer with Ricardo Consulting Engineers, he provides technical, design and strategic support to Lontra.

Roger Richards, Procurement Manager

A former Principal Engineer with Ricardo Consulting Engineers, Roger has extensive experience with project planning, project management and cost control. Roger manages the prototype build project.

Advisory Board

Lontra benefits from advice and support from an informal advisory board. The members are corporate finance expert Sir David Chapman, environmental technology entrepreneur Dr Peter Mucci, CHP specialist Fred Nash, compressor expert Harry Craig and the well-respected engineer Dr Alex Moulton CBE, whose experience of successful innovation dates back to the Mini.

Sub-contractors

Our principal development partner is Mahle Powertrain (formerly Cosworth Technology), one of the world's leading engine development consultancies. Lontra has been working with Mahle since 2004.

Prototype build and development is undertaken by FFD, the Romsey based precision engineering firm. Other partners involve Cranfield University and Imperial Innovations, who provide business development support and incubation.
