Lontra was established in 2004 and is based in London. The company’s objective
is to create sustainable long term revenues from the development and exploitation
of the Lindsey Engine™ and associated technologies.
The team is committed to using innovation to address environmental issues.
The company is small and dynamic, working with world–class technical and commercial
partners, including Mahle Powertrain, Cranfield University and Imperial Innovations.
Our product is Intellectual Property, and our business model based on licensing
and joint–venture.
Following a finance round in 2006, Lontra’s shareholders include Imperial
Innovations Ltd – its first ever investment in a company that did not originate
in Imperial College. NPI Ventures, a subsidiary of Japan’s Nikko Cordial Corporation,
one of the world’s largest securities companies, is also a shareholder. The
Chairman and Non–Executive Directors have also invested in the company.
Lontra has benefited from the grant support of the Carbon Trust and the DTI/London
Development Agency, and the Carbon Trust Incubator Scheme.
